The March Market Report is in and it’s predictable in a few ways, and not in a few others.

Closed sales (2,565) were up 4.4% compared to March of last year and 41.5% compared to February of 2016. That statistic isn’t at all surprising because of seasonal real estate trends. Pending sales (2,786) rose 10.4% over February. Interestingly, this number is lower than last year’s, but I think that has to do with still needing listings (our inventory is down to 1.3 months with a market time of 51 days). Remember what I said about more listings coming on the market after Valentine’s Day? Now those houses are going pending and closing, which is great! Now, there are 3,318 total listings in the Portland Metro and prices have increased 9% from last year
